Chimneys

Removing pollutants from the emission is a major concern in an industry. We require a cost effective method for this. The best method now in use is the dilution of pollutants and emission. This can be carried out by releasing the emissions at a high altitude with long stacks. This system is referred as chimney. The stack diameter and height should be optimum for achieving maximum advantage. Chimney stack height is 275 meter in a power generator which generates power of 500 MW or above. In lower power generators, 220 meter chimney will do the business. In steam generators, chimney stack height is less and is in the range of 10-30 meters.
