Filters

Filters are important electronic circuits which are extensively used to eliminate unwanted signal components in advanced in electronic circuits and devices. Some commonly used filters are capacitor filter, choke input LC filter and p filter. A high capacitance capacitor is connected in parallel to the load resistance in a capacitor filter. Capacitor filters are very much economical and simple. In a capacitor filter, current across load resistance never falls to zero. Capacitor filters are used extensively in transistors, radios and battery eliminators. In a choke input LC filter, an inductor is connected in series with the rectifier circuit and a capacitor which is in parallel with a load resistance. p filter consists of two capacitors and one inductance arranged in the shape of p. p filter gives the most smooth DC current among these three filters. This is due to the action of two capacitors.
