Analytical balance

Weighing is an important task in any synthesis and analysis. Extra care required while weighing smaller weights of the order of a few grams to a few milligrams. We require accurate and sensitive weighing machines for this purpose. Generally we use analytical balance which includes electronic balance, single pan mechanical balance, semimicro balance and microbalance. In an electronic balance, the pan is fixed on the arm of a movable hanger. A constant electromagnetic force is used to compensate movable system. An electrical position scanner is employed to monitor the position of the moving hanger. The current which is proportional to the weight of the material in the pan is converted into digital form and sent to a microprocessor. Microprocessor converts the weight value and shows it in its display.
