Hydrocarbons are used as fuels in many areas. Pe4troleum and natural gas are widely used in industry, commercial sector, domestic sector and transport sector. Natural gas means methane and Petroleum is hydrocarbon. In ancient days Only Kerosene was produced out of petroleum. The residue obtained in this process is used as furnace oil in furnaces. Expansion of automobile industry leads to the synthesis of petrol, diesel and LPG from petroleum. Natural gas can be directly used for illumination and domestic heating. Natural gas also utilized as a source of hydrogen which can be used for the industrial production of ammonia.
