Computer networks

A computer network is a collection of many computers, peripheral devices and storage unit. A network allows the computer to communicate with any computer located at a distance of a few meters to several thousand kilometers. Programs, database and other program utilities can be shared among the systems in a network. The networking actually promotes and increases the capacity of a computer to share, exchange, interact, preserve and protect information. In a network, client-server concept is important. Here client first has to establish a connection to the server. The server then accepts data from the client and vice versa.
