Platinum resistance temperature detector

The basic idea utilized in this device is that the electrical resistance of a material will change in proportion to the applied temperature change. Usage of platinum enhances the potential in power and industrial applications. Here a spring which is loaded and provides positive thermal contact and stops vibration differences within the assembly. The platinum element is kept inside a ceramic body just like a capsule. A wheatstone’s bridge arrangement is the circuit used here. Platinum has high degree of thermal and chemical stability. The fine reproducibility of temperature-resistance relationship of platinum makes it the superior choice in temperature sensing industry. Amplification requirement is very less when we use platinum.
