Broaching machines

In mass production mechanism, broaching technique is employed. Here internal and external surfaces on small and medium sized metal parts are machined by broaching tool. A broach provides many cutting teeth. It is pressed or drawn through a rough-drilled hole and removes the excessive material by cutting-off. External broaching is used instead of milling in many cases. The toothed surface broach is moved along the surfaces of the work piece to be machined. During the internal fine broaching process, the work piece is pressed against the machine table by the pressure of cutting. Horizontal broaching machines are economical and versatile. But the disadvantage is that they have a smaller output than the vertical counterpart.
